    ADULT ART CLASSES

Gelli Plate Image Transfer  Prints Workshop

Sunday 8th February 2026:
10.30-4.30pm
£120 includes
 all materials

During this course we will explore how to create image transfer prints using Gell plates.  This is fun and addictive process that leads to fascinating and unique prints.

Using a range of glossy magazines, we will select  imagery and text and use these to transfer onto paper using  Gell Plates. We will explore ways to use colour and composition to create interesting multilayered artworks. Each print will be a one off.  We will experiment with how to use collage to add text and additional visuals to the prints after printing.

The beauty of this process is in its relative unpredictability and so elements of surprise are frequent! This allows for experimentation and a playful approach and always leads to interesting prints which can't be re created.

The first part of the day will be spent mastering the transfer process. We will then discuss colour choices and composition and experiment with these. This will lead to learning how to layer up imagery to create interest and depth. There will be the option to add collage elements of collage to the prints.

All abilities are welcome , no previous experience of Gell printing is necessary.

We will break for around 45 mins for lunch. Please bring whatever you would like to eat. Tea, herbal teas and coffee will be available here.

Expressive Drawing Workshop

Sunday 8th March 2026

10.30-4.30pm

£120 includes all materials

What is expression in art?

During this one day workshop we will dip our toes into the ways that we can  express feelings, atmospheres and sensations to our audience using a range of drawing media ( charcoal, ink , pastel).

Working from a range of imagery and objects you will be guided through a series of drawings, experimenting with different ways to make marks to communicate visually .

Music and spoken word will be used as background inspiration to influence our mark making and to experiment with ways to use movement to create expression through drawing media.

As the day progresses we will settle into longer drawings where we will select marking making and drawing techniques and apply these  more methodically and throughly to create a more finished feel to the work.

This will be a fun and immersive day and a great way to explore what drawing can mean for you . All abilities are welcome even if you have no drawing experience. A can do attitude and sense of adventure is always helpful!

We will break for around 45 mins for lunch. Please bring whatever you would like to eat. Tea, herbal teas and coffee will be available here.
